Abolish Cheques – Improve Cashflow – Really?

The British Chambers of Commerce believe that the abolishment of cheques could improve your late payment problems and has called upon the Payments Council to reconsider it’s decision to retain them.

In addition, they say, 66% of businesses are paid by cheque but only 20% want to remain thus.  In addition the BCC has suggested that businesses with a good payment record and paying electronically, should get a kitemark.  John Longworth, director general of BCC believes that this will improve our cashflow.

So, what do you think?  Do you think the abolishment of cheques and introduction of a kitemark would improve your cashflow?  Let me know.  Post a comment or drop me an email to martin.parry@mgba.co.uk
