New Employment Rules – Boost To Businesses

 HR Magazine are predicting that planned reforms to the employment tribunal process could make it easier to hire and fire staff and deliver savings of £10 million a year. The changes include:

Extending the qualifying period for claiming unfair dismissal from one year to two

Raising the maximum level for costs awarded to firms winning a tribunal claim from £10,000 to £20,000.

In addition BIS will publish the average value of awards and time taken to reach a hearing to provide both parties with a better understanding of the tribunal process.
